The Koch brothers’ political network has endorsed Nikki Haley in the Republican presidential primary contest, lending her financial and organizational strength as she vies with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for the second position in Iowa.
The organization disclosed its intentions in a memorandum dated Tuesday.
Ms. Haley is strengthened by the network’s, Americans for Prosperity Action’s, endorsement as the campaign approaches its final week prior to the initial nominating contest.
Ms. Haley’s polling position has risen consistently since the first Republican primary debate, and she is currently in a close race with Mr. DeSantis for the second-place position in Iowa.
Donald J. Trump, the former president, continues to maintain his polemical lead in the campaign.
Ms. Haley, who has characterized the time for Mr. Trump as over, has garnered backing from philanthropists and been endorsed by prominent opinion leaders, the majority of whom regard her as the most viable substitute for Mr. Trump.
The backing will provide her with access to a direct-mail campaign, door-knocking field workers, and individuals calling prospective electors in Iowa and beyond.
Additionally, the organization has funds available for television advertising.
As of this summer, the Koch network has consistently raised over $70 million for political campaigns, demonstrating its substantial financial resources.
The organization has maintained a steadfast stance against the re-election of Mr. Trump as Republican Party leader, as well as any candidate not pushing the policies of the establishment GOP.
