Vice President Vance has now reportedly stated that the escalating conflict between India and Pakistan is “fundamentally none of our business.”

His remarks came as both countries engaged in military exchanges, utilizing drones and projectiles, marking a significant increase in hostilities.

Speaking on Fox News, Vance expressed a desire for de-escalation but noted that the U.S. cannot control the situation.

Vance emphasized that the administration is pursuing diplomatic channels to encourage both nations to reduce tensions. Despite the rising conflict, he does not believe a nuclear war is likely.

His comments have raised concerns among experts, who suggest that this hands-off approach could embolden both sides, particularly as the situation has been escalating daily.

Historically, the U.S. has played a crucial role in mediating conflicts between these particular nuclear-armed nations, especially during previous escalations in 2019 and 1999.

Analysts warn that the lack of U.S. intervention may create a vacuum that could exacerbate the instability in the region.

Pakistan often seeks international support, viewing itself as the weaker party in its long-standing disputes with India, particularly over the contested Kashmir region.

The current tensions began after a deadly attack in late April, which resulted in the deaths of 26 people in Indian-administered Kashmir.

India accused Pakistan of harboring the attackers, while Pakistan denied any involvement. In response, India launched missile strikes, and both sides have since exchanged drone attacks.

Local residents are experiencing the brunt of this escalation, with many fleeing their homes amid fears of further violence. Meanwhile, calls for international intervention have intensified as both nations navigate this precarious situation.
