As part of a multistate fundraising tour for former President Donald Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is now reportedly aiming to raise a minimum of $10 million.
DeSantis previously engaged in a contentious primary race with Trump, but he has since established a cautious truce.
The adviser for DeSantis stated that the fundraising events are anticipated to commence in July and continue through September, with numerous events scheduled in Texas, California, and Washington.
The objective is to rapidly raise funds for Trump by leveraging the substantial donor networks that DeSantis had established during his own presidential campaign in specific states.
The funds collected will be allocated to media purchases in critical battleground states that are within Trump’s political sphere of influence.
Ike Perlmutter, the former chairman of Marvel Entertainment at Disney, is a longtime Republican rainmaker who has been a political supporter of both Trump and DeSantis.
The fundraising events will ostensibly be for Right for America, a pro-Trump super PAC that was established in January.
