The Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) criticized the College Football Playoff committee’s selection of the University of Alabama Crimson Tide to occupy the four-team playoff field on Sunday, instead of undefeated Florida State University.
Because Alabama was defeated by the University of Texas Longhorns on September 9 and Florida State maintained a perfect record, the decision prompted a wave of protest.
What we learned today is that you can go undefeated and win your conference championship game, but the College Football Playoff committee will ignore these results.
Congratulations to @FSUFootball on an outstanding season and winning the ACC championship!

Preceding the announcement of the four-team playoff participants, conjecture arose regarding the Florida State Seminoles’ potential exclusion due to the season-ending leg injury suffered by quarterback Jordan Travis, which cast doubt on the team’s ability to contend in the playoffs.
Certain critics interpreted Florida State’s exclusion as validation of the rumor that a Southeastern Conference team is guaranteed at least one berth in the NCAA playoffs.
The University of Georgia, which had been ranked first in the nation, was defeated by Alabama to secure the SEC championship over the weekend.
Alabama entered that contest ranked eighth in the rankings.
