Elon Musk is now reportedly back on the campaign trail, making headlines with an unusual offer to Wisconsin residents. He announced that he will distribute $1 million each to two individuals who sign a petition opposing what he calls “activist judges” in the state’s Supreme Court race.
This announcement coincides with Musk’s support for conservative candidate Brad Schimel, who is vying against incumbent Judge Susan Crawford for a pivotal position on the court.
The upcoming April 1 election is critical, as it could influence future rulings on various issues, including congressional district maps, voter ID laws, union reforms, and abortion rights.
In a post on his social media platform X, Musk stated that the event would be exclusive to those who have voted in the election.
He emphasized the importance of the vote, stating, “I will also personally hand over two checks for a million dollars each in appreciation for you taking the time to vote.”
Musk’s America PAC has been actively campaigning for Schimel, who previously served as Wisconsin’s attorney general, and has launched numerous ads criticizing Crawford for her progressive judicial record.
The political action committee also incentivizes voter participation by offering $100 to every Wisconsin registered voter who supports the petition against activist judges.
Scott Ainsworth, a mechanical engineer from Green Bay, has been named a $1 million spokesperson for this petition initiative.
He encourages others to sign the petition and vote for Schimel, stating that a strong turnout from supporters is essential for victory.
Critics, including Crawford’s campaign, have accused Musk of trying to buy influence in the race, calling the payments corrupt and extreme.
As the stakes rise, this election has become one of the most expensive Supreme Court races in Wisconsin history.
