Former President Donald Trump and Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis reportedly convened in a confidential meeting on Sunday to deliberate on collaborating for the forthcoming election.
The Miami, Florida meeting was arranged by real-estate broker Steve Witkoff, who has a personal connection with both Trump and DeSantis. Additionally, Witkoff was present at the meeting.
According to the story, Trump is seeking DeSantis’ assistance in raising funds to match President Joe Biden’s gifts. Meanwhile, DeSantis aims to regain his reputation as a formidable contender for the 2028 presidential election.
During the primary, the ex-president initiated a sequence of assaults on DeSantis, prompting the governor to intensify his frontal accusations of Trump as the competition became more intense.
Upon DeSantis’ withdrawal from the contest and subsequent endorsement of Trump, the language used by both individuals suggested that there was still lingering animosity between them.
Following DeSantis’ disclosure to donors and supporters earlier this month on his intention to raise funds for the former president at a secluded gathering, the Sunday meeting has been scheduled.
