The office of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) has announced that it is providing Israel with drones, guns, and ammunition to aid in its fight against Hamas.

This development could strengthen the governor’s pro-Israel position in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.

According to Jeremy Redfern, an official from DeSantis’s office, the Israeli Consul General in Miami has asked Florida to ship body armor, helmets, and drones to Israel for use by first responders.

According to Redfern, Florida hired cargo planes to deliver the supplies, which also included medical and hospital equipment.

He added, “To help get weapons and ammunition to Israel through private parties,” the office collaborated with the Consul General.

He omitted to identify these private parties.

Furthermore, Redfern refrained from commenting on the types of weaponry supplied or the quantity of drones and ammunition shipped to Israel.

DeSantis has been a vocal supporter of Israel and has promised that Florida will do everything within its power to assist the country in combating Hamas, an organization that the US has classified as terrorist.

Earlier this month, he signed an executive order allowing the use of chartered aircraft to rescue Floridians who were in Israel.

DeSantis stated that over 700 Americans had been evacuated from Israel to Florida in four different rescue aircraft in a post on X, the previous Twitter platform, on Wednesday.
