In its debut television advertisement, a super PAC supporting Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) reportedly criticized former President Trump for his aggressive behavior against the governor.

This came in advance of what is widely anticipated to be a run for the White House by DeSantis in 2024.

The advertisement criticizes President Trump for his attack on Governor DeSantis’s position on Social Security.

In 2013, when DeSantis was still serving as a representative in the United States House of Representatives, he cast a vote in favor of a resolution that advocated increasing the minimum eligibility age for Medicare and Social Security to 70 years old.

Since then, DeSantis has asserted that Republicans should abstain from making any changes to the programs when it comes to discussions over budget reductions in Washington, District of Columbia.

The super PAC turned the assault back around on Trump by airing a tape of the former president speaking during an interview given at the World Economic Forum. In this interview, the former president stated that entitlements will be on his plate for expenditure cuts “at some time.”

The new ad mark an escalation from the pro-DeSantis side after weeks of withering, and at times bizarre, attacks from the former President.

DeSantis is widely expected to officially announce his candidacy for Presidency in 2024 in the coming weeks.
