On Monday, former President Trump reportedly made yet another effort to dissuade Florida Governor Ron DeSantis from formally entering the run for the presidency in 2024.
Trump tried to claim that DeSantis’ entry into the race would ultimately fracture the Republican Party and be detrimental to DeSantis’ career.
“Ron DeSantis is a young man who is not doing well against me in the polls, to put it mildly. I believe that if he decides to run for President, which will only hurt and somewhat divide the Republican Party, he will lose the cherished and massive MAGA vote, and never be able to successfully run for office again.” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
“If he remains Governor, which is what Florida voters assumed, it would be a whole different story….JUST SAYIN’ – But who knows?” he continued.
Many pro-DeSantis conservatives were less than impressed by Trump’s threats:
Trump admits that Trump World venom towards DeSantis is simply due to his likely entry in the race and that it would be “a whole different story” if RDS stayed Gov of Florida.
DeSantis is doing well enough in polls to be about even w/Trump in some states without declaring yet. pic.twitter.com/YzXRqHeXvB

For a guy Trump claims not to fear, Trump sure seems to be afraid of him.
P.S., That's Governor Ron DeSantis. pic.twitter.com/5Vam1xuMo8

So incoherent. After months of saying DeSantis is a Paul Ryan controlled pedo, Trump is now suggesting he’d be just fine to support in 2028. https://t.co/eNieCbBXqG

It is not known for certain whether or not DeSantis will enter the campaign for president in 2024, but it is widely anticipated that he will do so within the next several months.
An independent pro-DeSantis group has also recently hired several staffers who previously worked with former President Trump in his administration or on his campaign.
DeSantis has reportedly been quietly assembling a staff, and the pro-DeSantis group has also recently hired several staff members who previously worked with Trump.
DeSantis has already begun going to places with early voting in the Republican primary schedule, like as Iowa and South Carolina.
These states include Iowa and South Carolina.
According to the results of many polls, the governor is largely considered to be Trump’s most formidable prospective opponent.
There have been several surveys conducted in specific states that have shown DeSantis to be ahead of Trump. These polls have been conducted in Florida, Georgia, and Iowa.
In recent days, President Trump and the super PAC that he controls, known as MAGA Inc., have stepped up their assaults on DeSantis.
A criminal complaint was filed against Donald Trump in a Manhattan court last week, charging him with 34 counts of felony involvement in a scheme to pay adult film star Stormy Daniels hush money to keep quiet about an alleged affair in the weeks before the 2016 presidential election.

President Trump, remember Ronald Reagan’s 11th commandment.
Thou shalt not speak badly of a fellow Republican publicly.
JUST SAYIN’.
Trump is correct. DiSantes would have been a shoe in after Trump’s term because Trump’s loyal supporters will be his, but showing us that he is an ingrate will ruin his political career, because no decent person want to support an ingrate which defines their true character. i won’t vote for him even if he wins, which I doubt he will.
