Prominent hedge fund manager Bill Ackman stated on Friday that, in light of the recent pro-Hamas demonstrations that have emerged on campuses across the nation, the United States should reconsider permitting foreign contributions to U.S. universities.
His remarks coincide with the emergence of unlawful encampments on major college campuses, which numerous law enforcement agencies have labeled a coordinated effort by unaffiliated outside agitators.

“Foreign governments are not allowed to own our radio and TV stations for fear they might be used for anti-American propaganda and influence. The Congress just banned TikTok for the same reason.” Ackman asked.
“Why then do we allow foreign governments to give money to our universities, funds that are used to set up Middle Eastern, Asian studies and other programs which can be designed to fit the desired narratives of the donors?” he continued.
Although external agitators operating professionally contributed significantly to the disorder, university authorities exhibited limited effectiveness in suppressing the disturbances within their campuses.
This was particularly evident at Columbia University, where extremists successfully occupied an entire building.
