Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville is now reportedly making it clear he has no intention of softening his stance toward President Donald Trump. In fact, the longtime political operative says he proudly embraces what critics often call “Trump Derangement Syndrome” and hopes his opposition to the president only intensifies.

In a video released Saturday by Politicon, Carville delivered a blistering and profanity-filled attack on Trump, openly declaring that he has no interest in taking a neutral or measured approach when discussing the president.

“You’re right, I got Trump Derangement Syndrome,” Carville said in the video. “I hate the motherf**ker. And you know what? I don’t wanna get rid of it. I don’t wanna get better. I wanna get worse. I wanna hate him more.”

Carville went even further, framing his hostility toward the president almost as a calling. In his remarks, he said he prays that his anger toward Trump continues to grow and encouraged others who feel the same way to embrace their opposition.

“I pray to God in heaven… Pray for me, Lord. I’m your vessel on this earth,” Carville said in the video. “Pray for the people that listen to this. We want more. We wanna hate the son of a bitch so much that we can’t see straight.”

The longtime Democratic strategist argued that his intense opposition to Trump is justified because he believes the president harbors hostility toward the United States itself. According to Carville, the reason for his animosity is simple: he believes Trump “hates” America and roots against the country.

Despite his harsh rhetoric, Carville acknowledged that some figures in media attempt to maintain a more balanced perspective when discussing Trump. He pointed to several personalities he said he respects, including Stephen A. Smith, Chris Cuomo, and Mediaite founder Dan Abrams.

Carville described Abrams as “one of the more successful journalistic entrepreneurs that I’ve known.” He also said he likes Cuomo and Smith, but contrasted their approach with his own.

According to Carville, those figures possess what he described as a reflexive sense of fairness that pushes them to remain more even-handed in their commentary.

“I like [Cuomo], I like Dan, I liked Stephen A., but he can’t help but be there,” Carville said. “In other words, in these people’s minds, that they have just been born with a reflexive idea of fairness.”

Carville, however, insisted he has no interest in attempting to strike that kind of balance when it comes to Trump.

At one point in the video, he pointed to the example of Trump firing Kristi Noem as the head of the Department of Homeland Security. Carville said he could not give the president credit for the move because, in his view, Trump was responsible for putting her in the position in the first place.

“He hired her!” Carville said.

The strategist ended his remarks by urging those who share his views to remain committed to opposing the president and to intensify their criticism.

Carville said he and others who agree with him would continue speaking out and would not “back off” in their opposition to Trump.

“We will pray together more,” Carville said. “But the one thing we’re not gonna do, we’re not gonna f**king back off. Not any time ever.”

In closing, Carville directly addressed Trump with more profanity, claiming that many Americans share his views and encouraging critics of the president to work even harder at hating him.

“And I know you think you can’t,” Carville said. “But I’m telling you, if you work hard enough at it, you can hate him even more.”
