President Donald Trump blasted The New York Times on Tuesday after the paper published yet another hit piece — this time claiming he is slowing down due to age and supposedly “losing stamina” while in office.
“The Creeps at the Failing New York Times are at it again,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, calling out the paper’s long-running obsession with attacking him. Trump reminded supporters that he won the 2024 election in what he described as a “landslide” and highlighted his accomplishments on the economy, national security, the border, and foreign policy.
“To do this requires a lot of work and energy, and I have never worked so hard in my life,” Trump said. “Yet despite all of this, the Radical Left Lunatics in the soon-to-fold New York Times did a hit piece on me that I am perhaps losing my Energy, despite facts that show the exact opposite.”
The Times’ Latest Narrative: Trump Is “Aging”
The Times article claimed that Trump, 79, is showing signs of age and spending less time in public than he used to. The piece mocked how Trump’s team still describes him as the “Energizer Bunny” of politics.
“The reality is more complicated,” the paper wrote, framing Trump as slowing down, ending events earlier, and supposedly talking more about the afterlife — a claim many conservatives dismissed as yet another example of the Times manufacturing a storyline out of thin air.
Trump was blunt in response:
“They know this is wrong, as is almost everything they write about me, including election results — ALL PURPOSELY NEGATIVE,” he said. He once again labeled the Times an “ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE,” a phrase he has used for years to describe legacy media outlets that distort and mislead the public.
The Times Defends Itself — Again
A Times spokesperson responded by insisting the reporting was accurate.
“Name-calling and personal insults don’t change that,” said Charlie Stadtlander, the paper’s executive director for media relations, defending the reporter behind the article. He claimed the Times would not be intimidated.
Of course, the Times has a long history of making itself the story — portraying itself as the brave defender of truth while simultaneously publishing politically convenient narratives that always seem to cut against conservatives.
A Longstanding Feud
Trump has been at odds with the Times for years, both during his first term and now in his second. Earlier this year he sued the outlet and several of its journalists over reporting on his rise within the Republican Party.
The Times has vowed to fight the lawsuit in court, ensuring that the battle between the president and the nation’s most famously liberal newspaper will continue.
The Bottom Line
While the Times attempts to portray Trump as slowing down, the president remains as active — and combative — as ever. Between a robust travel schedule, a flurry of policy action, and a constant media presence, Trump shows no signs of fading.
If anything, his sharp response to the Times proves their hit pieces are only fueling him further — and reminding conservatives exactly why he calls them “the failing New York Times.”
