In a recent interview with Fox Noticias, President Donald Trump reportedly reiterated his controversial plan to deport American criminals to El Salvador.

During a meeting with Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele, Trump expressed his interest in sending U.S. convicts to the notorious prison known as CECOT. He suggested that Bukele should construct additional prisons to accommodate these individuals.

Trump highlighted the effectiveness of Bukele’s approach to prison management, stating, “He’s made it a very safe place. People go and they feel very secure and safe.”

He claimed that under the current administration, many individuals who have committed crimes in the U.S. are being removed, reinforcing his perspective that these criminals should be housed in El Salvador.

When asked by Fox reporter Rachel Campos-Duffy if the plan could involve violent offenders, Trump referred to these individuals as “homegrown criminals,” explaining that they often grew up in the U.S. and turned to crime.

He cited alarming behaviors, such as assaults and violent crimes, to emphasize the urgency of the situation.

Trump’s comments come amid ongoing discussions about immigration and crime within the United States. While he expressed eagerness to follow through on this plan, concerns have been raised about the legal implications of sending American citizens to foreign prisons.

Some co-hosts at Fox & Friends questioned whether such a move would be permissible under U.S. law.

The plan has sparked debate and criticism, raising questions about the treatment of criminals, international relations, and the responsibilities of governments in handling their respective populations.

As discussions continue, the feasibility of Trump’s proposal remains uncertain.
