Republican Nation Committee co-chair Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of President-elect Trump, has now been publicly endorsed by Florida Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) to succeed Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), who has been selected to serve as the next secretary of State.

Scott’s endorsement coincides with the increasing volume of the chorus of Trump supporters and Republicans advocating for Lara Trump to assume the role.

Before Rubio was formally nominated to the position by Trump, Alabama Senator Katie Britt (R) publicly suggested that Lara Trump be considered. Additionally, on Tuesday, Maye Musk expressed her opinion on X that Lara Trump should succeed Rubio.

However, the ultimate decision is in the hands of DeSantis.

According to reports, the chief of staff of DeSantis is the frontrunner for the position, with the lieutenant governor and attorney general of Florida also being considered as potential candidates.
