In response to the Democratic Party’s eleventh-hour change-up, which involved the replacement of President Joe Biden with Vice President Kamala Harris without a vote and just days before the Democratic National Convention began, Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) cracked a few jokes at the expense of his own party.

However, he did not appear to be completely sold on or thrilled with the arrangement.

At one point, Newsom was rumored to be on the short list of potential candidates the Democratic Party might choose from if Biden bowed out.

While at the DNC, he joined the presenters of the podcast “Pod Save America” and was questioned about “the switch.”

“How are you feeling about the switch?” one of the hosts asked Newsom

“I mean … the switch. Now, we went through a very open process, a very inclusive process. It was bottom-up, I don’t know if you know that. Yes, that’s what I’ve been told to say.” Newsom said.

“It was a blitz primary, I believe that what we called it,” one of the hosts said, “A very very fast blitz.”another said.

“A 30-minute convention. You know, between a tweet and then another tweet —” Newsom added.

“It’s amazing how it happened,” one of the hosts said.

“Yeah, it’s been amazing, but you know what is amazing is how unified everybody is. I mean, it’s next level.” he concluded.
