DeSantis Issues Statement In Wake of Trump Assassination Attempt

Following his quick exit from a Pennsylvania rally, Gov. Ron DeSantis wished the former president well on X, the platform that was once known as Twitter.

Trump was rushed off stage after a sniper came within centimeters of killing him, in the process shooting him through the ear.

One bystander was killed by the shooter’s stray bullets and two more are reportedly hospitalized with serious injuries.

The shooter, now identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks was killed by secret service agents in the immediate seconds after he opened fire on Trump.

It is currently unclear what’s Crooks’ political views or motivations may have been, although these details are likely to come to light in the coming days as more information on the shooting is released.
