Marianne Williamson, a previous presidential contender, attacked President Biden for allegedly displaying “arrogance and stubbornness” by ignoring demands to withdraw from the White House contest.

Her comments coincide with the criticism that Biden is still receiving after giving a dismal debate performance against former President Trump last month.

“On one hand I feel compassion for the president, and found myself feeling bad for how he was struggling during the press conference last night,” Williamson wrote on X.

“On the other hand I feel disdain for the level of arrogance and stubbornness that enables him to put the Democratic electorate through this drama,” she continued.

The president seemed feeble and incompetent when he was on stage, stammering and looking off into space.

Democrats are currently worried that he won’t be able to defeat Trump in November or win a second term as a result of his poor performance.

As a result, many have called for the incumbent to step down and let someone else challenge the former president.

Williamson, Oprah Winfrey’s former spiritual advisor, has also urged the president to drop out of the contest.

The novelist hinted earlier this month that she would enter the race a third time, having previously launched a long-shot bid in March 2023, suspended it, and then relaunched it early this year.

Even though Williamson formally withdrew from the campaign during the June primaries, she maintained that Biden needs a replacement in the contest.

She claimed that Biden’s intransigence is costing him votes in her Friday article.

In response to inquiries over his mental health and desire to continue running, Biden addressed a number of them during his Thursday night press conference.

He declared he would not drop out of the race during a campaign event in Michigan the next day, arguing that the electorate had chosen him as the nominee, in spite of the mountain of criticism he has received since the debate.
