Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) firmly stated on Thursday that his state will refuse to adhere to the newly announced modifications to Title IX made by the Biden administration.

“Florida rejects [President Biden’s] attempt to rewrite Title IX. We will not comply, and we will fight back.” DeSantis said in a video posted to the X platform.

“We are not gonna let Joe Biden try to inject men into women’s activities. We are not gonna let Joe Biden undermine the rights of parents, and we are not gonna let Joe Biden abuse his constitutional authority to try to impose these policies on us here in Florida.” he continued.

The Biden administration recently announced the implementation of a final set of modifications to Title IX, which includes provisions to safeguard transgender students under the federal civil rights legislation pertaining to sex-based discrimination.

The modifications will be implemented in the beginning of August.

DeSantis has faced criticism from radical LGBTQ supporters for enacting state regulations that they argue have a negative impact on their ideology.

One such law was the so-called “Don’t Say Gay” rule, which places limitations on discussions about extreme sexual activities with children in Florida public schools.
