In a recent podcast episode, Joe Rogan commended Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for his proactive stance against home squatters. This issue has been making headlines across the nation, and DeSantis has been at the forefront of addressing it.

In a recent development, Governor DeSantis took a significant step by signing the legislation at a press conference.

This move aims to bolster property rights and provide homeowners with the authority to promptly address the issue of squatters without resorting to lengthy court procedures.

Additionally, the legislation imposes stricter penalties on individuals who engage in squatting activities.

Rogan discussed several noteworthy incidents related to squatting that have gained attention in the media.

These include the story of a Venezuelan individual who gained viral fame on social media for advising migrants on how to unlawfully occupy homes, a case in New York where a woman was arrested for changing the locks on her own property due to the presence of squatters, and a tragic incident where a woman lost her life at a property owned by her deceased mother due to squatters.

“It’s a lot of states, but it’s not in Florida. And Florida, they’re like f*** you. Like DeSantis just had a little press conference yesterday about it. And he’s like, ‘in Florida, that does not fly.’ You know, there’s no way anyone’s gonna squat in your house in Florida. Which is what people want to hear.” Rogan said.

“You know, nobody wants their f***ing, look, if you work really hard, you get a house and you have a second house. You can use it as a rental property or whatever, you’re trying to make some money. And then someone takes over that and the system works for them and not for you? There’s a big difference between tenants and squatters. And if you can’t make that differentiation, we got a real problem.” he continued.
