A complaint was lodged on Monday by the Campaign Legal Center, a nonprofit investigative organization, against the presidential campaign of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the super PAC that supports him, Never Back Down.

The complaint alleged that there was coordination between the two organizations in contravention of federal election laws.

The grievance is in continuation of numerous reports detailing the recent turmoil at Never Back Down, which culminated in the departure of its principal operator, Jeff Roe.

Andrew Romeo, a spokesman for the DeSantis campaign, slammed the complain as utterly unfounded:

“This baseless complaint is just another example of how the Left is terrified of Ron DeSantis and will stoop to anything to stop him. The FEC has made clear they won’t take action based upon unverified rumors and innuendo, and that’s the false information this politically motivated complaint is based on. The Left has tried to stop DeSantis in the past and failed, and they will fail again this time,” he continued.

The super PAC has made a substantial investment in DeSantis’ ground game in Iowa, which the candidate has touted as his primary instrument for competing in the first-place caucus state in the nation.
