On Thursday, 60 Florida law enforcement officials from both parties endorsed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, which is more endorsements than he earned in the election for governor in 2022.

The campaign will declare that 60 Republican and Democratic Florida law enforcement officials are supporting DeSantis in his 2024 presidential bid at a meeting in Tampa, Florida on Thursday afternoon.

The campaign highlights DeSantis’ record of supporting law enforcement in the news release, including his passage of “numerous laws” in support of the police and a $5,000 signing incentive for new cops, which the campaign claims has attracted law enforcement from all over the country to the Sunshine State.

“Ron DeSantis has been unwavering in his support for law enforcement, which is why I am proud to endorse him today to be the next president of the United States,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said in a statement.

“Our nation needs a leader who will bring back law and order to our communities. The people in the major metropolitan areas deserve to be safe, too. As President of the United States, he will fight to curtail runaway violent crime.” he continued.

According to the campaign, DeSantis won the support of 59 sheriffs during his bid for governor in 2022 after they called him the “Law and Order” governor.

The Florida Police Benevolent Association President, the state’s biggest police union, endorsed DeSantis in June.
