According to his campaign, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will reportedly publicly introduce his military strategy on Tuesday in South Carolina, where he has pledged to “rip” wokeness out the military and put “mission first” if elected president.
A video previewing DeSantis’ proposal, in which he promises to eliminate any “social agenda” from the U.S. military, was posted on Monday by his campaign.
“You look at today’s military, it’s going woke. You are pursuing a social agenda in the military rather than having your eye on the ball.” DeSantis states in the video.
DeSantis is a former Navy officer who served in the Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG) in Iraq.
According to his campaign, the governor will travel to South Carolina on Tuesday to fully announce his military strategy.
DeSantis signed a number of bills in support of Florida’s military community in June of last year, including Senate Bill 430, which helps children of active-duty military families transition to civilian schooling, and Senate Bill 514, which permits state agencies to waive postsecondary education requirements in favor of work and military experience.
