Next Monday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) will reportedly make his first significant policy platform announcement since announcing his pursuit for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. He will discuss his border strategy.

According to his campaign, DeSantis will unveil his strategy for border security during a meeting in Eagle Pass, Texas.

On Sunday night, the governor will take part in a ride-along tour of the border.

Even as governor, DeSantis has been in the middle of disputes over immigration law.

Over his decision to transport migrants who crossed the southern border to liberal places like Massachusetts and California, Obama has come under fire from the left and even from some Republicans.

Last month, the governor approved a bill that strengthened his migrant relocation initiative and restricted the social assistance that undocumented immigrants could access.

Last Monday, DeSantis revealed a group of 90 sheriffs that support the governor and his emphasis on immigration.

In the early weeks of his 2024 campaign, Florida’s governor has made border security and illegal immigration a central issue, promising to build the border wall that former President Trump pledged and criticizing President Biden for a deteriorating mass-migration catastrophe.
