In a new campaign film, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) reportedly blasted California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) and the failed policies of his far-left administration by visiting the homeless population of San Francisco.

The 30-second ad portrays DeSantis in San Francisco following a trip during which the Republican presidential candidate claims to have observed drug users, crack cocaine smokers, and individuals defecating in public.

“The city is not vibrant anymore. It’s really collapsed because of leftist policies, and these policies have caused people to flee this area. They don’t prosecute criminals like they do in most parts of the country, and the wreckage is really sad to see.” DeSantis said in the video.

DeSantis also made fun of Newsom by claiming that the issues in San Francisco were the cause of the large number of Californians coming to Florida.

The California governor ran advertisements in Florida last year criticizing the Republican for measures that he said targeted LGBTQ rights, voting rights, and abortion, among other things. DeSantis and Newsom have been at odds for a year.

The projected number of homeless people in California is the highest in the country.
