Gavin Newsom, a Democrat from California, and Ron DeSantis, a Republican from Florida, have been at odds for some time.

On Monday, Newsom reportedly appeared to threaten DeSantis with abduction charges over aircraft carrying migrants from South America to Sacramento.

In a tweet on Monday, Newsom referred to the Florida governor and GOP presidential hopeful for 2024 as a “small, pathetic man” and invoked California’s abduction laws.

“This isn’t Martha’s Vineyard. Kidnapping charges?” Newsom wrote in a tweet.

More than a dozen migrants were flown from Texas to New Mexico, carried to Sacramento, and then unexpectedly dumped on the doorstep of a nearby church on Friday. Recently, Newsom made a statement.

20 additional migrants landed in Sacramento aboard an aircraft on Monday. According to representatives of the California Department of Justice, both groups were transported by the same contractor and had paperwork tying the state of Florida to their move. This information was revealed by the Los Angeles Times.

“My Administration is also working with the California Department of Justice to investigate the circumstances around who paid for the group’s travel and whether the individuals orchestrating this trip misled anyone with false promises or have violated any criminal laws, including kidnapping,” Newsom claimed.

Rob Bonta, the attorney general of California, announced a probe into the migrant planes in a separate statement on Saturday.

Earlier this year, DeSantis signed legislation giving Florida $12 million to continue its practice of sending undocumented residents to jurisdictions with sanctuary city laws. The objective of the show is to expose Democrats’ duplicity regarding asylum seekers.
