This week, Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has reportedly now incurred the wrath of the entire liberal establishment by articulating a vision of foreign policy that prioritizes the national interests of America over those of foreign nations like Ukraine.

DeSantis made a statement arguing that continuing to spend untold billions supporting Ukraine in its continued territorial dispute with Russia is not be one of America’s “vital national interests.”

He also criticized the Biden administration for indicating that it will support Kyiv for as long as it takes.

DeSantis’s comments were made public this week.

The fact that DeSantis is now stepping in with comments on foreign affairs is also another indication that he’s considering a bid for the White House.

According to DeSantis, the employment of F-16s and long-range missiles ought to be taken off the table since these steps run the risk of bringing the United States of America into the fight and bringing us closer to a full-scale war between the world’s two strongest nuclear powers.

DeSantis said that the measures enacted by the Biden administration were driving Russia toward “a de facto partnership” with China.

“Because China has not and will not abide by the embargo, Russia has increased its foreign revenues while China benefits from cheaper fuel. Coupled with his intentional depletion of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and support for the Left’s Green New Deal, Biden has further empowered Russia’s energy-dominated economy and Putin’s war machine at Americans’ expense,” DeSantis said.

In addition he also blasted the administration’s unofficial policy of ‘regime change’ in Russia.

Regime change in Russia “would greatly increase the stakes of the conflict, making the use of nuclear weapons more likely. Such a policy would neither stop the death and destruction of the war, nor produce a pro-American, Madisonian constitutionalist in the Kremlin. History indicates that Putin’s successor, in this hypothetical, would likely be even more ruthless.  The costs to achieve such a dubious outcome could become astronomical,” DeSantis noted.

Liberals and neoconservatives on social media were livid over DeSantis’s new articulated foreign policy position, as it actively contradicts that of the President Biden and the pro-war officials who populate his State and Defense Departments.

In spite of incurring the wrath of neoconservatives and liberals alike, DeSantis’s statement received praise from conservative activists on social media, as well as from Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
