DeSantis Suspends Soros Backed DA

Monique Worrell, the state attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit, has reportedly been placed on administrative leave by Florida’s Republican governor Ron DeSantis due to negligence and incompetence.

DeSantis alleged that Worrell, who received support from an organization connected to Democrat billionaire George Soros, had let murders, other violent felons, and deadly drug traffickers to obtain incredibly reduced terms and escape the full repercussions of their illegal behavior.

The executive order that resulted in her suspension cites a number of policies and practices that include avoiding minimum mandatory sentences for gun crimes, minimum mandatory sentences for drug trafficking offenses, allowing juvenile offenders to avoid serious charges and incarceration altogether, avoiding valid and applicable sentencing enhancements, limiting charges for child pornography, and seeking withhold of judgment in circumstances that are not permitted by Florida law.

At a news conference, the governor announced that he had appointed Judge Andrew Bain to succeed Worrell in his role as State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit.

DeSantis’ action comes almost precisely one year after he fired State Attorney Andrew Warren of the 13th Judicial Circuit, another awakened Soros prosecutor, from his position.
