Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) took direct aim at conservative commentator Laura Loomer this weekend, blasting her online remarks as a symbol of what Greene called President Trump’s “new MAGA and Republican Party.”
The dust-up began after Loomer fired off a post targeting Florida state Rep. Angie Nixon, a Democrat currently running for a Senate seat. Loomer made clear she does not support Nixon and is no Democrat herself, but argued that the Republican Party and President Trump “own” her and her ongoing criticism of others.
That did not sit well with Greene, who fired back hard on social media.
“I 1000% denounce Laura Loomer and her nasty, hateful, racists comments. This is Trump’s new MAGA and Republican Party and I want nothing to do with it,” Greene wrote.
Greene didn’t stop there, branding Loomer’s comments “demeaning rhetoric” that “should not be tolerated. Ever.” She went on to accuse Trump’s inner circle of giving Loomer a pass despite the damage she claims it causes the party.
“But they allow it and keep her in the inner circle. Loomer hurts Republican Senator Ashley Moody in her race with these vicious attacks,” Greene wrote, pointing to Nixon’s Republican opponent in the Senate contest. “Just like Loomer has consistently hurt the Republican Party as she whispers nonstop insanity in the President’s ear.”
Loomer wasn’t about to let that slide. She clapped back at Greene, invoking Greene’s past ties to far-right figure Milo Yiannopoulos, who once worked for Greene and lived in her home. Loomer claimed Yiannopoulos plotted against Trump during that time, expressed support online for the terror group Hamas, and pushed conspiracy theories claiming the president faked an assassination attempt against him. Yiannopoulos was detained and deported back to the United Kingdom last week, and Loomer has taken credit for tipping off federal authorities. White House border czar Tom Homan told CNN Sunday that “a lot of people tipped ICE off,” and that Loomer “probably was” among them.
Loomer didn’t hold back in her response to Greene, declaring, “You are most definitely a Democrat, @mtgreenee and you own Milo more than anyone because you were aware of all of his activities and his immigration issues yet you still kept him around.” She added, “I don’t work for the White House or President Trump. I am free to say whatever I want.”
The clash comes amid a broader rift between Greene and Trump, who was once a close political ally. The relationship soured after Greene publicly criticized the administration’s handling of records tied to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, prompting Trump to label her “Marjorie Traitor Greene.” Greene resigned from Congress in January but has kept up her criticism of Trump, particularly over the cost of living and the Iran war.
