Republican attorney and MAGA commentator Mike Davis called on the Trump administration to accelerate deportation efforts following the Supreme Court’s ruling affirming birthright citizenship, arguing that the administration should prioritize removing illegal immigrants who are pregnant or of childbearing age.

Davis made the remarks during Tuesday’s edition of “The Megyn Kelly Show,” where he joined attorney Alan Dershowitz to discuss the Supreme Court’s decision striking down President Donald Trump’s executive order on birthright citizenship.

The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 to uphold the nation’s longstanding interpretation of the 14th Amendment, which grants citizenship to individuals “born or naturalized” in the United States. The decision dealt a setback to the Trump administration’s effort to end automatic birthright citizenship through executive action.

Following the ruling, President Trump called on Congress to take legislative action.

During the discussion, Davis argued that changing the constitutional interpretation of birthright citizenship would likely take years, prompting him to urge Congress and the administration to pursue other avenues.

“So the chief justice constitutionalized birthright citizenship like the liberals did with Roe v. Wade,” Davis said. “It’s gonna be decades before we can fix this as a constitutional matter.”

Davis said Congress should immediately pass the SAVE America Act and cancel its August recess to move the legislation to the president’s desk.

“What it means is Congress needs to pass the SAVE America Act immediately, cancel August recess, get that to the president’s desk,” he said.

In addition to calling for congressional action, Davis urged Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin and other administration officials to intensify deportation efforts.

“The Trump administration, Markwayne Mullin, the others, they need to get moving and start deporting people as fast as possible,” Davis said.

He added that those efforts should begin with what he described as “birthing-aged women.”

“Starting with birthing-aged women, the birthing persons, as the Democrats call it,” Davis said. “If you’re going to give birthright citizenship to illegal aliens, we’re going to get these pregnant women and women who could be pregnant the hell out of our country.”

The comments came as some Republicans have begun advancing legislative proposals aimed at addressing birth tourism and birthright citizenship following the court’s decision.

Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., has introduced legislation known as the Anchors Away Act, which would prohibit pregnant foreign nationals from entering the United States.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., has said he is reviewing the proposal.

Speaking to Fox News after the Supreme Court ruling, Ogles said the legislation is intended to respond directly to the court’s decision.

“We are literally going to be dropping Anchors Away, which really pushes back against the Supreme Court,” Ogles said.

He continued, “This idea that if you are pregnant and you are from a foreign nation, you know what, it is time for Congress to pass a law that says you cannot come here. You cannot have a baby on U.S. soil and exploit this loophole.”

The Supreme Court’s decision has renewed debate over birthright citizenship, with the ruling prompting calls from supporters of the administration for both legislative action in Congress and expanded immigration enforcement by federal officials.
