President Trump is now celebrating the results of an internal poll that shows Representative Byron Donalds (R-Florida) in the lead in a hypothetical contest for governor of Florida.

Victory Insights, a Republican pollster located in Florida, was the one who were responsible for conducting the poll, which Trump praised.

A hypothetical Republican primary field was shown to be led by Donalds, who received 31 percent of the vote, according to the poll. Lt. Governor Jeanette Nuñez, who is a Republican, received a support rate of 4 percent, followed by the Agriculture Commissioner of the state, Wilton Simpson, who is also a Republican, who received 3 percent of the vote, and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, who received 1 percent of the vote.

Donalds has informed a number of Florida Republican donors that he intends to run for governor, despite the fact that no one has yet entered the Republican primary for the state’s gubernatorial election.

As potential contenders for the role, Simpson and Nuñez have both been considered as viable candidates simultaneously.

Given that Trump resides in the state and is present there, it is highly possible that his endorsement will have a great deal of weight in the Republican primary election that will take place in the state.

Donalds has been an outspoken supporter of Trump for a long time, and he endorsed him over Ron DeSantis, the Republican governor of Florida, in the Republican primary election for president of the state in 2024.

During the Republican National Convention that took place the previous year, Donalds was seated in Trump’s box. Additionally, Trump addressed Donalds during the inaugural procession that took place the month prior.
