This week, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) reportedly condemned Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris’ recently disclosed economic agenda, which includes the implementation of price controls.
Cruz cautioned that Harris’ agenda bears a striking resemblance to “Soviet-style” policies that were ultimately unsuccessful.
During the most recent episode of his “Verdict” podcast, Cruz made the comments while discussing the proposal with co-host Ben Ferguson.
Cruz described how the Biden-Harris administration’s campaign against the oil and gas industry has resulted in an increase in the cost of all products, particularly food.
He observed that she is currently facing a significant political dilemma, as the policies she advocated for have had a detrimental impact on millions of Americans who will be voting in the forthcoming election. However, so far she has been unwilling to acknowledge this fact.
“Queen Kamala, the federal government czar, is going to set prices, well, not on anything that matters, just food, just groceries, just what you feed your children and your family. That the federal government is now going to be in the business that the Soviet Union, their government, was in for a long time, deciding the prices of goods the people need and want. The only problem is history has shown that is absolutely disastrous.” Cruz said.
“There are a lot more dollars — if there are a lot more dollars, the price of everything goes up. But secondly, there’s a second component of inflation, which is for four years, Kamala Harris and Joe Biden have waged a war on energy, and in particular, oil and gas.” he added.
