DeSantis Signs Three New Health Care Bills Into Law

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis attended a press conference at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami on Tuesday afternoon during which he discuss a new series of bills he just passed enhancing health care in Florida.

He was accompanied by First Lady Casey DeSantis, Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez, and Florida Department of Health Surgeon General Dr. Joseph A. Ladapo.

“Between our robust commitments to pediatric and cancer care and the legislation enacted today. Florida is poised to greatly enhance our efforts in expanding high-quality healthcare and fostering innovation.” DeSantis said.

“I am honored to join Governor DeSantis in signing legislation that will accelerate medical research and breakthroughs for Floridians, particularly for pediatric and cancer patients statewide. By promoting innovation, facilitating data sharing, and expanding resources dedicated to cancer, Florida is significantly elevating its fight against this disease.” DeSantis continued.

DeSantis discussed substantial improvements in pediatric and cancer care as he signed three key laws focused at improving healthcare innovation, research, and patient care in Florida: Senate Bill 1582, Senate Bill 7072, and House Bill 885.

Governor DeSantis also just signed the Focus on Florida’s Future Budget, which funds $116.5 billion for the state and includes significant improvements in health and human services.
