The governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, addressed the media in Tallahassee concerning the his dedication to waging a continuing war on cancer.
First Lady Casey DeSantis, Department of Health Surgeon General Dr. Joseph A. Ladapo, and Agency for Health Care Administration Secretary Jason Weida will accompany the governor.
Wednesday at 10:20 a.m., a press conference was held at the Governor’s Mansion in Florida, located at 700 N. Adams Street.
During his press conference, DeSantis announced that the Florida Cancer Innovation Fund would be established with $20 million of the more than $190 million invested in cancer research.

The proposed budget of the governors allocates an additional $232 million for cancer research, of which $127.5 million is designated for the First Lady Cancer Research Program and $60 million is allocated to the Florida Cancer Innovation Fund.
