A male from Dover, New Hampshire, was apprehended by the police on suspicion of threatening to murder Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.
The District of New Hampshire U.S. Attorney’s Office issued the following statement: Tyler Anderson, 30, was arrested and charged with “transmitting in interstate commerce a threat to injure the person of another” after purportedly texting his campaign members death threats against Ramaswamy.
The threat was purportedly transmitted by Anderson in response to a mass text message distributed by Ramaswamy’s campaign. The message apprised inhabitants of the crucial battleground state of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, regarding an imminent political gathering.
Moreover, Anderson allegedly exhibited menacing behavior in the past.
In the past, he allegedly made a threat against another unidentified candidate while responding to a notification regarding an imminent event.
An investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) into the most recent alleged threats against Ramaswamy.
According to reports, Anderson is scheduled to appear in court for the first time on Monday afternoon.
