In his most recent appeal to donors, the Republican candidate for president in 2024 threatens to “return Kamala to her liberal homeland” in a witty turn of phrase that serves as his latest demonstration of contempt for Harris.
Dog-whistle rhetoric is an extension of a more extensive denunciation directed towards the Joe Biden administration.
During his campaign, DeSantis has conveyed skepticism regarding the eventual nomination of the octogenarian President by the Democratic Party for the 2024 nomination.
“The radical agenda of the Biden administration will be ripped up and shoved into a trashcan when we send Joe right back to his basement and Kamala to her liberal homeland. They won’t be able to do any more damage to our country, our kids, or our future there,” DeSantis vowed.
He has even suggested that California Governor Gavin Newsom or Harris might emerge as the party’s standard-bearer instead of Biden
DeSantis, who recently attributed “decline” at the national level to the Vice President, spent weeks this summer slamming Harris over her criticisms of Black history standards in Florida.
