President Donald Trump offered a forceful defense of Attorney General Pam Bondi on Thursday, brushing aside criticism from both Democrats and some conservative voices following her combative performance during a contentious congressional hearing on the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Wednesday’s hearing quickly devolved into a shouting match, with Bondi repeatedly clashing with Democratic lawmakers and firing back at their accusations. The tense exchange drew sharp reactions across the political spectrum.

Some conservative commentators were openly critical. Radio host Erick Erickson said Bondi “should be fired or resign” over her handling of the hearing, while Newsmax host Carl Higbie accused the Department of Justice of engaging in an Epstein cover-up and called for those responsible for “screwing this up” to step down.

But any backlash from the right appeared to carry little weight with Trump, who stood firmly behind his attorney general.

“AG Pam Bondi, under intense fire from the Trump Deranged Radical Left Lunatics, was fantastic at yesterday’s Hearing on the never ending saga of Jeffrey Epstein,” Trump wrote in a post Thursday. He added that the one thing “proven conclusively” was that he has been “100% exonerated of their ridiculous Russia, Russia, Russia type charges.”

Trump then pivoted to accuse Democrats of hypocrisy, claiming that it is “the SLIMEBALL Democrats, many of them big Donors and Politicians,” who have been proven guilty.

He also took aim at Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., criticizing the congressman for what he described as unproductive opposition.

“‘Republican’ Loser, Sanctimonious RINO Congressman, Thomas Massie, made a total fool of himself yesterday,” Trump wrote, accusing Massie of fighting against what he called a “hopeless agenda of Hate and Stupidity.” The president referenced Massie’s job approval numbers in Kentucky and pointed to his opponent, Ed Gallrein, describing him as a “Military Hero” who is “crushing him in the Polls.” Trump added that Massie is now in “Wacky” Liz Cheney territory.

The president further argued that interest in Epstein has been politically motivated from the start.

“Nobody cared about Epstein when he was alive, they only cared about him when they thought he could create Political Harm to a very popular President,” Trump wrote, asserting that Democrats are using the issue to distract from what he described as “tremendous Republican SUCCESS.”

He suggested that the strategy is backfiring and accused Democrats of prioritizing other controversial policies instead.

“Maybe they should focus on their quest to Open our Borders to the World’s Greatest Criminals, have Transgender for Everybody or, get Men, no matter their size or strength, to play in Women’s Sports,” Trump wrote.

The Epstein files have named numerous public figures, including Trump and several members of his Cabinet, such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Howard Lutnick, and Navy Secretary John Phelan. None of them have been charged with any crimes.

As fallout from the hearing continues, Trump’s message was unmistakable: Bondi has his full support, and he views the renewed focus on Epstein as another politically driven attack that will ultimately fail to gain traction.
