In an emotional and deeply personal video posted Saturday night, Today Show host Savannah Guthrie delivered a desperate plea to those holding her elderly mother, confirming that her family has received a message and is prepared to pay ransom money to secure her safe return.

Standing hand in hand with her siblings, Annie and Camron, a visibly shaken Guthrie addressed the captors directly, making clear the family’s willingness to comply in exchange for peace and the return of their loved one. Nancy Guthrie, 84, was taken from her home in the Catalina Hills area outside Tucson, Arizona, in the early morning hours of February 1, according to authorities.

“We received your message and we understand,” Guthrie said in the video. “We beg you now to return our mother to us, so we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace.” She emphasized the value of her mother to the family, adding plainly, “This is very valuable to us. And we will pay.”

The kidnapping has drawn national attention and prompted a large-scale law enforcement response. President Donald Trump addressed the case publicly on Friday night, telling reporters that federal authorities were making strong progress and that answers could be coming soon.

“I think we’re doing very well, very well, meaning, we have some clues I think that are very strong,” Trump said. “And I think we could have some answers coming up fairly soon.” He stressed that officials were not merely searching but actively working toward a resolution. “I’m not talking about a search, I’m talking about a solution,” the president said, suggesting that forthcoming developments from the Department of Justice or the FBI could be definitive.

Earlier in the week, Trump confirmed that he had personally spoken with Savannah Guthrie and assured her that the full weight of the federal government was being brought to bear. On February 4, he said he was directing all federal law enforcement agencies to be at the complete disposal of the family and local authorities. He added that all available resources were being deployed to bring Nancy Guthrie home safely and said the prayers of the nation were with the family.

Law enforcement officials have continued to provide updates as the investigation unfolds. On February 5, police confirmed during a press conference that blood discovered on the front porch of Nancy Guthrie’s home belonged to her. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos later said that additional DNA samples, beyond the blood found at the scene, had been collected and sent for analysis.

While no suspect or person of interest has been publicly identified, Nanos said investigators, including the FBI, are actively pursuing dozens of tips. “Right now, we still believe Nancy is still out there,” the sheriff told reporters.

Authorities have also released a preliminary timetable of the disappearance, noting that a home camera attached to Guthrie’s front doorbell was disconnected and removed. That camera has not yet been recovered. Multiple ransom notes with deadlines have reportedly been sent since the abduction, demanding millions of dollars in Bitcoin.

On Friday, Nancy Guthrie’s vehicle was towed from her home, though officials have not explained the reason for the move. As the investigation continues, the family’s message is clear: they want their mother back and are willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen.
