Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) has now reportedly openly criticized Laura Loomer, a close ally of President Donald Trump and a controversial figure known for her conspiracy theories.

The conflict arose after Bacon accused Loomer of being behind Trump’s decision to fire key national security personnel, including Gen. Timothy Haugh, leader of the Pentagon’s Cyber Command.

In a recent exchange on social media, Bacon remarked that Loomer was more suited for a role in the film “The Munsters” than “Poltergeist,” a jab at her reputation.

Loomer, notorious for her extreme rhetoric, has previously pushed various conspiracy theories, including the denial of school shootings and claims related to the 9/11 attacks.

Loomer retaliated, questioning Bacon’s priorities as a Republican congressman. She responded on X (formerly Twitter), implying that he should focus on supporting Trump’s agenda rather than attacking her.

Bacon did not back down, labeling Loomer a “whack-a-doodle” and stating that she is a “liar weak lady.”

This exchange underscores the divisive nature of current Republican politics, particularly as the party continues to grapple with members who hold extreme views.

The confrontation highlights the tension within the GOP, where figures like Loomer can garner support despite their contentious beliefs.

Loomer, despite losing two congressional races, remains a notable presence within far-right circles and maintains access to Trump.

Bacon’s remarks reflect a growing frustration among some Republicans regarding Loomer’s influence and the broader ramifications of conspiracy theories in political discourse.
