The FBI reportedly issued a warning regarding attacks on Tesla by far-left extremists, following a series of incidents that have occurred across at least nine states since January.
This bulletin highlights attacks that include arson, gunfire, and vandalism targeting Tesla vehicles, dealerships, and charging stations.
The violence stems from outrage over Elon Musk’s involvement in the Trump administration’s efforts to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse from the federal government.
In the bulletin, the FBI noted that these criminal acts appear to be carried out by lone offenders, with most incidents occurring at night.
The attackers are said to employ rudimentary tactics like improvised incendiary devices and firearms, often perceiving these actions as victimless property crimes.
The FBI has urged the public to remain vigilant around Tesla locations, especially in light of reports involving violent threats online and unusual surveillance at Tesla properties.
Elon Musk responded to the violence by expressing his disbelief, stating, “This level of violence is insane and deeply wrong,” and emphasized that Tesla has done nothing to deserve such attacks.
In light of the threats, Tesla has enhanced security measures and activated its Sentry Mode, which records video of any potential harm.
President Donald Trump also weighed in on the situation, labeling the perpetrators as “terrorists” and vowing that their actions would not go unpunished.
He mentioned the possibility of severe legal consequences for those involved, suggesting they could face up to 20 years in prison.
Trump affirmed his administration’s stance against leniency, emphasizing that such destructive acts, likened to terrorism, would be met with the full force of the law.
