Megyn Kelly reportedly blasted MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow over her reaction to the network’s recent shake-up, accusing her of self-righteous grandstanding and publicly undermining her own bosses.
Maddow had voiced her frustration after MSNBC announced major changes, including the cancellation of Joy Reid’s show and shifts in roles for other anchors.
She particularly lamented the loss of diversity in the prime-time lineup, seemingly blaming leadership for sidelining minority hosts.
“I will tell you. It is also unnerving to see that on a network where we’ve got two – count them – two nonwhite hosts in primetime, both of our nonwhite hosts in primetime are losing their shows, as is Katie Phang on the weekend. And that feels worse than bad, no matter who replaces them. That feels indefensible. And I do not defend it.” Maddow said.
Kelly, never one to shy away from calling out liberal hypocrisy, dismissed Maddow’s comments as melodramatic and divisive.
She argued that Maddow, one of MSNBC’s highest-paid personalities, was openly attacking the very executives who have given her a massive platform.
According to Kelly, Maddow’s remarks were less about genuine concern and more about self-righteous virtue signaling.
Maddow’s response to Reid’s removal suggests that identity politics, rather than journalistic merit, should dictate programming decisions.
“She really is one of the most annoying people on television. She oozes sanctimony and self-righteousness. Here’s the real capper. She took her boss’ faces and rubbed them in shit last night.”Kelly said.
Instead of acknowledging that ratings and content might play a role in the network’s choices, she framed the restructuring as a loss for diversity.
This is a common theme among left-wing media figures who push progressive agendas while ignoring industry realities.
Kelly pointed out that Maddow’s public condemnation of MSNBC leadership could easily be seen as an attempt to pressure the network into aligning with her personal ideology.
She described Maddow as insufferably sanctimonious, highlighting how the MSNBC host has long positioned herself as a moral authority despite pushing biased narratives and took the leadership of MSNBC to task by name:
“Well, Rebecca and Mark, do you have any spines whatsoever? Are you actually going to let an employee, that’s what she is, Rachel Maddow, talk about you, your company and your decision making this way? Mr. Lazarus, do you have any testosterone? Do you have any testicular fortitude to stand up for yourself as a professional and executive, never mind a man, and tell this woman, ‘You’re fired too.’” Kelly declared.
