In a statement reportedly released on Saturday morning, President Trump stated that he had authorized precise air strikes to be carried out against a “senior ISIS Attack planner” as well as other individuals that the unnamed individual recruited and directed in Somalia.
“These killers, who we found hiding in caves, threatened the United States and our Allies. The strikes destroyed the caves they live in, and killed many terrorists without, in any way, harming civilians.” Trump posted on Social Media.
“The message to ISIS and all others who would attack Americans is that ‘WE WILL FIND YOU, AND WE WILL KILL YOU!’ Trump added.
Trump did not provide any information regarding the person who was the target of the strike.
Pete Hegseth, the Secretary of Defense, stated that the operation, which took place in the Golis mountains, resulted in the deaths of many persons, but that no civilians were injured in the process.
According to reports, Trump made the statement when he was at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida.
