An individual who is close to the former television personality has now reportedly told TheWrap that Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi have relocated to rural England, placed their Montecito mansion up for sale, and have made the decision to never return to the United States.
They have reportedly informed their friends that the election of Donald Trump was the primary motivation behind their decision.
Though the new Republican government was the reported impetus, a fresh start couldn’t hurt: DeGeneres has been outspoken about getting “kicked out of show business” amid complaints of bad workplace behavior at the syndicated “Ellen” show in 2022.
The individual stated that Ellen DeGeneres has already relocated to the Cotswolds, which is a rural region located in the south-central region of England.
They also mentioned that her Montecito estate, which is around 90 minutes north of Los Angeles, has been pocket-listed or would be listed shortly.
DeGeneres is said to have purchased the expansive Montecito home in 2019, and she and de Rossi have made it their primary abode.
It was unclear what would happen to her other residences in Southern California at the time. Since Ellen DeGeneres’s comedy special and tour have come to an end, a former publicist for the comedian has officially announced that she is no longer representing the comedian.
“Four Your Approval,” a stand-up show that DeGeneres jointly created with Netflix, was just recently made available to the public.
Within it, she detailed how she was spending her time after the conclusion of “Ellen,” and with the exception of the comedy special itself, none of it was connected to the entertainment industry.
At that moment, she pondered aloud whether she ought to have established expectations in a different manner.
DeGeneres is one of the most prominent liberals who have now made the move to flee the United States in the wake of Trump’s historic victory.
