On Tuesday evening, President-elect Donald Trump disclosed that he has appointed Vivek Ramaswamy, a former pharmaceutical executive and business titan, to serve as the director of his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

The initiative, which Musk initially proposed during an interview with Trump earlier this year, was referred to as the “Manhattan Project” of our era by Trump.

The department’s name, DOGE, is a nod to a cryptocurrency and caricature that Musk occasionally mentions.

“I am pleased to announce that the Great Elon Musk, working in conjunction with American Patriot Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the Department of Government Efficiency. Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies – Essential to the ‘Save America’ Movement.” Trump announced in a statement.
