According to numerous media agencies, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) withdrew his proposal to establish golf courses in state parks on Wednesday, which he described as “half-baked.”

The plan was met with opposition from prominent Florida Republicans, as reported by the Herald.

People also protested in parks throughout Florida, and petitions against it garnered hundreds of thousands of signatures.

DeSantis referred to the proposal as “not ready for prime time,” during a recent interview.

“Here’s the thing, I’d rather not spend any money on this, right? I mean, if people don’t want improvements, then don’t do it.” he continued.
