Thursday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed an executive order authorizing his administration to conduct rescue operations within Israel, where 20,000 Americans are still stranded.
For Floridians who are still in Israel, DeSantis charged the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) with organizing chartered aircraft home.
While Israel is waging a full-scale war against Palestinian terrorists who have killed more than 1,300 Israelis and at least 27 Americans, FDEM was also planning the logistics for delivering supplies to Israel.
The attacks also resulted in over 100 kidnappings, thousands more injuries, and many missing persons.
“The Biden administration has failed to launch any form of rescue or evacuation operations for Americans, including Floridians, stranded in the region, and has failed to provide information requested by the State of Florida about any plans for such operations,” the executive order from DeSantis read.
“Today I signed an executive order authorizing rescue operations in Israel to bring Floridians home and transport supplies to our allies. We will not leave our residents behind. To the many Floridians who are stuck in Israel, trying to get home — help is on the way.”
Commercial airlines have suspended operations owing to deteriorating security situations in the nation, making it harder for Americans to leave Israel.

In the executive order, DeSantis targeted President Joe Biden, saying that he had fallen short in comparison to other foreign leaders who had already started rescue operations inside Israel.
