Following his first presidential campaign trip in New Hampshire on Thursday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was reportedly talking to voters when a reporter posed the following query to him:

“Governor, how come you’re not taking questions from voters?”

Mr. DeSantis vehemently contested the question’s underlying assumption.

“People are coming up to me, talking to me. What are you talking about?” DeSantis shot back.

“Are you blind? Are you blind? OK, so people are coming up to me, talking to me whatever they want to talk to me about.” he continued.

Some people expressed disappointment that Mr. DeSantis did not answer audience questions to news organizations covering the Laconia event.

He regularly ran afoul of the press when governor, and he typically favors giving interviews to sources like Fox News and conservative talk radio.

The governor’s supporters quickly pointed out on social media that he has been answering questions from constituents who approach him for photos and signatures following his addresses.
